Topographic Survey Map

The topographic quadrangle is the most disciplined drawing humans make of the ground itself. Every line obeys a fixed color code: sepia-brown contours trace elevation, blue ink carries every stream and lake, a green wash marks woodland, and black holds the cultural world of roads, rails, and place-names. Nothing is decorative; every mark is a measurement.

This system borrows that rigor. It treats the interface as a survey sheet — warm aged paper beneath a fine coordinate graticule, condensed technical labels, and a strict palette where each hue means exactly one thing. Restraint is the aesthetic. The beauty is in legibility under load.
