Tamil Grantha Inscription

Grantha is the script South Indians used to write Sanskrit, its deeply curved letters chiselled into the gray granite of Pallava and Chola temples. Read by raking light, the carved relief sits a shade lighter than the weathered stone around it. This system borrows that exact contrast: pale incised glyphs floating on dark, mineral, time-softened ground — calm, sacred, and built to outlast.
