Arnhem X-Ray Bark Painting

Arnhem Land x-ray bark painting is the Yolŋu and Kunwinjku tradition of painting ancestral figures — barramundi, fish, and creator beings — on sheets of dark eucalyptus stringybark, their bones and internal organs shown as if x-rayed. Its signature is *rarrk*: extremely fine cross-hatching laid with a human-hair *marwat* brush in prescribed clan colour sequences, producing a shimmering, vibrating brilliance.

This design system distills that tradition into a digital language — a warm red-brown bark ground that reads near-black in raking light, a fixed four-pigment ochre palette, and rarrk-textured surfaces where dense parallel lines do the work that gradients never should.

阿纳姆地的「X 光」树皮画，是约伦古（Yolŋu）与昆温库（Kunwinjku）民族在深色桉树皮上描绘祖先形象的传统——澳洲肺鱼、群鱼与创世神灵，骨骼与内脏如同被 X 光透视般层层显现。其标志技法名为 *rarrk*（dhulang）：用人发制成的 *marwat* 细笔，按各氏族规定的颜色序列，排出极细密的交叉影线，令画面闪烁、振颤、流光溢彩。

本设计系统将这一古老传统转译为数字语言——以温暖的红棕树皮为底，在斜射光下近乎墨黑；固定四色矿物颜料（红赭、黄赭、白陶土、炭黑），并以致密平行线构成的「rarrk」纹理取代一切合成渐变。底色永远是深色树皮，绝不用纸白或米白。
