Sukhothai Thai Script

The Ram Khamhaeng Inscription, cut into a four-sided siltstone stele in 1292, carries the earliest known Thai writing — rounded letterforms chiselled deep into fine-grained grey-brown stone. This system renders that monumental, weathered ground and lifts it with gold-leaf yellow, the gilding of Sukhothai temple manuscripts. It reads as carved, upright, and reverent: stone first, gold as accent.

素可泰王朝的兰甘亨碑刻于公元 1292 年，是已知最早的泰文书写，圆润的字形被深深 凿入一块四面带尖顶的细粒灰褐色砂岩石碑，如今藏于曼谷国家博物馆。这套设计还原了 那种历经风化的深石底色，再以金箔黄点缀其上——这正是素可泰寺院贝叶经与金石刻 传统中贴金的手法。整体气质纪念碑式、庄重而立，以石为本，以金为饰，绝不通体鎏金， 更不用奶白或象牙底。
