The engraved sundial is a time-telling instrument cut into stone: a weathered limestone or Portland-stone dial plate scored with radiating hour lines, incised Roman numerals, and a carved Latin motto. A triangular bronze gnomon, dulled to a green verdigris patina, throws its shadow across the cool grey-beige face. This system speaks in that material register — monochrome stone, deep incision, and a single oxidised-metal accent. Nothing is bright; everything is carved, weathered, and meant to outlast its maker.
